The Ojugbana Family History and lineage to Nnebisi Founder of The Asaba Kingdom.
Genealogy and quest to serve
Nnebisi was the father of Onne, Onne was the father of Ezenei who was the father of Ezekwensi. Ezekwensi was the father of Ojugbana, father of Echekwube. Echekwube gave birth to Ezeagulu who in turn gave birth to Obi Ejor.
By this time, the traditional appellation, Obi, had been introduced as a traditional title acquired by choice and dint of personal achievements.
Obi Ejor was the father of Obi Nzekwu who was also the father of Obi Edozie. Obi Edozie gave birth to Ogbuefi Nathaniel Okafo Edozie, who was at that time, the Ajie of Asaba. Then Okafo Edozien gave birth to Obi Professor Joseph Chike Edozien of Umuezei Quarters, Asaba.
The Asaba royal family originates from Nnebisi, who established the city Kingdom of Asaba and its five ruling houses (Ebos): Umuezei, Ugbomanta, Umuagu, Umuaji, and Umuonaje. The position of Asagba (traditional ruler) rotates among these five houses according to their seniority. The current Asagba is Obi (Prof.) Epiphany Azinge, who ascended to the throne in 2024, succeeding the late Obi (Prof.) Joseph Chike Edozien.
Origins of the Royal Line.
The royal line of Asaba was founded by Nnebisi, who was born to an Igala prince.
